Swimming Lessons in Hull
Total Fitness Hull offers some of the best facilities in the East Riding of Yorkshire for children's swimming lessons. The club is located in Willerby off the A164, making it a really accessible place to learn to swim if you live in Beverley and other areas near the River Humber.
We're proud to be teaching over 450 children to swim each week in Hull, giving them the best swimming journey possible. Our Learn to Swim programme is written by Olympic swimmer, Becky Adlington, alongside industry-leading professionals experienced in teaching kids to swim!
It's an experience like no other, with just 6 children in each class and progress always first priority.
Becky Adlington's SwimStars uses two swimming pools at Total Fitness Hull: the main 25 metre pool for higher ability classes, and the 10 metre teaching pool for foundation and early swimmer lessons. Both pools have a constant depth of 1.2 metres. We have use of half of the teaching pool and 2 lanes of the main pool.
Address: Beverley Rd, Hull, HU10 6ED (see map below)
Session Details: Depending on the ability group of your child, numerous different skills and strokes will be taught on a weekly basis and progress will be updated by the teacher via the portal every 3 weeks. Please note: the venue allows one spectator per swimmer.
Clothing/Jewellery: Comfortable swimming costume or shorts no longer than knee length. All children must wear SwimStars ability related hats (provided on your first lesson, or purchased from our store). Please bring goggles if your child finds using them preferable.
Online tracker: Teachers update the progress portal 3 times a term, and you can check up on their progress at any time by logging into your online account.
What to do when you arrive: Please allow at least 10 minutes from arrival time to the start of your child’s lesson to ensure they have enough time to get changed, use the toilet and be ready on poolside waiting with you at the Parent Drop Off point, clearly marked by the banner on poolside. Once your child is collected by their teacher, you can make your way to the viewing area either in the café, or on poolside. Just before the end of the lesson, parents will make their way to the Parent Pick Up Point (also marked by a banner on poolside) where the teacher will hand the children directly back to you. Teachers are asked not to release children whose parents are not on poolside at the Pick Up Point for the safety of all swimmers.
