big school swim 2017

As partners of Everyone Active, SwimStars will be taking part in their annual celebration of school swimming, The Big School Swim.

Organised by Swim England, this event saw 160 primary schools and 4,800 children across the country join in last year, sharing photos and stories about their experience of school swimming.

We're engaging schools that follow the SwimStars programme and share our belief that teaching children to swim before they leave primary school is an essential life skill.

To thank schools for helping us in our mission to create swimming opportunities for all, we're offering pupils the chance to take part in our SwimStars School Competition!

Over the next week, our coordinators will be handing out blank templates at SwimStars lessons for pupils to design their own swim cap.

We're kindly asking that school’s completed designs are then sent to our head office by Wednesday 22nd November for our Director, Becky Adlington to choose and announce the lucky winner.

After this announcement on Monday 18th December, we will then organise for the winner’s cap design to be printed and handed out to each member of their swimming class.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be posting about the event on our website and across our social media so if you would like to join in and would be happy for us to share your photos, please do get involved. In the past, we’ve had photos sent in of classes creating their masterpieces, quotes from children explaining their designs, and videos of school assemblies discussing the importance of school swimming – but please feel free to take part in any way you like, and use the hashtag below when posting on social media!
